How to build a Minecraft statue
Choose a statue
The statue generator turns four models into block-by-block blueprints. The sitting rabbit is 15 blocks tall, in brown wool with a white snout, belly and tail, pink inner ears and black eyes: 395 blocks solid, or 267 hollow.
The black knight and the paladin are original characters. The knight is 22 blocks tall, in polished blackstone armour with a red eye slit and a red crest; his right hand rests on a sword planted in the ground and a red shield stands in front of his left leg: 536 blocks, or 429 hollow. The paladin is 20 blocks tall, in white plate armour with a blue surcoat and cape, a winged helm with a T-shaped visor, a war hammer and a blue shield: 649 blocks, or 502 hollow.
The giant mushroom is 9 blocks each way, with a red cap, white spots, pale gills and a mushroom stem: 261 blocks, or 221 hollow.
Solid or hollow
A solid statue is the simplest to copy: every block is filled in. A hollow statue looks exactly the same from outside but leaves the inside empty, which saves 15 to 32 percent of the blocks. The generator keeps the few hidden blocks a layer needs to rest on, so you never have to place a block in mid-air.
Build it layer by layer
Start with layer 1 at Y 0 and work upwards. The statue faces south, towards +Z, so stand on that side to see its face. The layer plan shows the exact blocks for each height and the 3D view highlights the same layer in gold. Mark blocks as you place them, or a whole layer at once, and save the project to keep your progress on this device. On each layer, start with the blocks that touch the layer below and work outwards.
Take the blueprint into Minecraft
The Java 1.21.5 .mcfunction export fills each layer with the right block, from the lowest north-west corner where you run it. CSV exports list X, Y, Z and the block of every position, and layer images colour each block with a key for that layer. What to collect counts every block with its stacks, and Plan the crafting opens the concrete in the Resource calculator.
