How to turn an image into Minecraft pixel art
Choose a picture and a palette
Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 15 MB and 25 megapixels. The image stays in your browser. Set a width from 8 to 128 blocks; the height follows its aspect ratio, up to 256 rows.
Use all 40 blocks, choose a family or pick individual blocks from the inventory. The converter matches colors sampled from Minecraft Java 1.21.5 textures. Smooth keeps clean color areas; Detailed mixes neighboring blocks to reproduce more shades.
Check the result before building
Compare the original image and the textured result with the slider. Switch to Blocks for the placement plan or 3D to inspect your wall or floor. In-game lighting, biome colors and resource packs can change how blocks look.
Start at the bottom
For a wall, build row 1 starts at Y 0 and moves upward; X runs left to right. For a floor, build row 1 starts at Z 0 and Y stays at 0. Empty transparent pixels are skipped. Mark individual blocks or an entire row, then save your project.
Take the plan into the game
PNG art preserves the block textures. PNG and SVG building plans add coordinates; the SVG uses flat reference colors. Materials CSV lists quantities and stacks. Coordinate CSV and the Java .mcfunction use the selected wall or floor orientation. Java functions place blocks relative to the execution point.
This tool creates block art, not Minecraft map files, NBT structures or a complete data pack. Saved projects include the block plan and progress; add the original image again to change conversion settings.
